In a time when processed foods dominate and many people don't always vary their diet optimally, we often unknowingly consume too few essential vitamins and minerals. Supplementation can help with this, but traditional pills and gummies can be a barrier for many people.
We thought there had to be a better way.
The story behind DOZE
Thomas & Stijn – father and son
DOZE was founded by Thomas and Stijn, father and son, with a shared passion for entrepreneurship, product development, and health.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Thomas gained extensive commercial experience in, among other places, East Germany, Poland, and Russia. In the late 1990s, he took over a factory in Zaandam where food products were manufactured and packaged into finished goods. This led to a deep understanding of production processes, quality, and scalability.
Stijn worked for over six years at Etos as a buyer, where he was responsible for several product ranges, varying from beauty and personal care to health. In this role, he learned the retail industry from the inside out: from consumer behavior and market needs to product positioning and assortment composition.
From frustration to idea
The idea for DOZE Vitamins originated at the kitchen table in 2021.
Within our family, we like to use vitamins, but every day we dreaded taking large vitamin pills. Surely there had to be a better way?
During our search, we discovered something striking: there are very few liquid nutritional supplements on the market, even though these are ideal for people who have difficulty swallowing pills. The reason soon became clear; liquid supplements are technically complex to develop.
Bringing together all the necessary vitamins, tailored to market needs, with a good taste, stable quality, and in a compact bottle proved to be a significant challenge.
Five years of development
After five years of intensive development, in collaboration with experts, producers, and laboratories, and countless tests and trials with friends and family, it was finally here: a complete range of premium quality liquid nutritional supplements.
